Without having a real blog that isn't themed (travel / health) I wasn't sure where to write this piece. But, since it's on mindset, I figured the thirty day reset was a great place to plop it. After all, we don't have squat without our mental health.
Fall is my season. I realize this is a ridiculously popular opinion, still don't care. I loved fall before the PSL and blanket scarves. I loved fall before riding boots were cool with those lace cuffs. I'm the leaf jumping, sleeping with the windows open, foliage viewing pilgrimage to the mountains, kind of fall lover.
That being said, one of my favorite things about the fall (and this is a bit crunchy, so bear with me) is how beautiful it is to let dead things go. Maybe you've never thought about it that way, leave falling and the such. But it's kinda refreshing and should be a seasonal reminder to us all. If something isn't serving you (relationships, pretending to be something or someone you're not, being an excellent cook, staging the perfect photo, a job you're miserable in, literally a-n-y-t-h-i-n-g), and let that shit go. My wonderfully brilliant friend and yogi shared in before a class last year the science of the leaves changing color (if you're a nerd like me, here ya go) and I loved the correlation of autumn to our lives. The leaves have the reds and oranges in them the whole time, it just takes a change for the colors to show up. I feel like I don't even need to break that down for y'all.
With a new season upon us (even though it is still hot af here) stop and take a second to think about what you're holding on to that isn't serving you, that is keeping you from being the boldest and brightest version of yourself...
...and let that shit go.
